Stockholm Modern

In our search for exceptional furniture and objects to enhance our vintage/modern sensibility – Andrew and I spent a surprisingly warm (not the weather) few days in Sweden to attend the Stockholm Furniture Fair in Alvasjo.

We were a bit perplexed by the cold February dates for the event – perhaps JUNE can be a nice option for next year – though not the least disappointed with the amazing food and with the beautifully walkable  historic city of Stockholm.

Our favorite chair: the overstuffed “Tired Man” designed by Flemming Lassen in 1935 with his stated purpose to be “as warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap.”  Now available with current production by  Lassen Copenhagen.  Soon to be available at FINCH.

Flawless lighting display at our favorite Copenhagen design studio &tradition… individual fixtures available at FINCH.

There is also this amazing folding chair designed by college student Kerstin Kjellin Larsson in beech and vegetable tanner leather.  She calls is Homie – we thinks its a start of a very successful career.
