Classic in mid-century Scandinavian design by Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts student Illum Wikkelsø (1919-1999) who preferred, like his contemporary Hans Wegner, clean lines and organic materials. This well-structured armchair has a solid oakwood frame supporting a perfectly balanced pair of spring'd cushions covered in original striped wool. Solid teakwood arms slop up to support the back. Produced in the 1950s by the Danish firm Søren Willadsen.
