Preferring functional and unadorned simplicity, Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) stood out among the greatest of the modernist designers. This example is one of his later designs for cabinetmaker Karl Andersson & Söner. A oakwood case with clean lines and a pair of front sliding doors with inset handles. The base is a later addition with metal supports. Beautiful. Denmark, late 1960s, early 1970s.
